We have made our bodies idols.
How? We have put the condition of our bodies before God, and have made our physical condition of much higher importance than our spiritual.
Who can lose the most weight, is the prettiest, has the least cellulite, the most defined muscles, best tan, cutest hair and best wardrobe? When did it happen?
God did not create these bodies as a place for what the world dictates. He created our bodies as a place for him indwell.
Your body was created by the Most High God, with a distinct purpose and plan; a place of worship that is purchased by the blood of Christ Jesus and a dwelling place for God’s Holy Spirit.
God doesn’t care if yours is the prettiest, best dressed, or most sculpted temple. He cares that your body is committed to worshiping Him.
Our Father cares that your body serves as a vessel to reach the lost for Christ.
Above all, God cares that we belong to him and that we welcome Him in.
It’s time to stop listening to what the world thinks our bodies should be, and embrace what God tells us!
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
