Stop Trying and Start Trusting

Have you ever taken time to consider what it means to commit your way to the Lord?

Psalm 37:5 says, “Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him, and he will act.”

This direction you commit your way is a command to fully hand over all of your work, plans and ideas to God.

Being able to hand over everything you say, do or think requires complete trust and total submission to God. It means that you believe with every ounce of your being that God can and will take care of your every need. And, when you trust him with that complete abandon, he will take action.

This means that we must do what 1 Peter 5:6 tells us to do. “Casting all your anxieties on him…” Throw your worries, doubts, fears, uneasiness and nervousness on the Lord. That’s right! Toss them all on him! And he will take care of it all. He will be the burden. He will do the work, and he will make a way.

It’s time to stop simply saying we trust God, and then continue to pack up all of our “stuff” and try to do it ourselves. It is time to truly trust God. Lay the stuff on him and never pick it up again.

He alone can accomplish it all and through him we will find peace.
