I came across this fantastic post from the Grace Abounds, by Rebekah Leigh blog and just had to share it with you!
Life as, you probably know, isn’t easy.
Everything can be going just fine when all the sudden, life decides to go in the opposite direction.
Your parent is in the hospital, you lost the big game, you lost your job, you failed the test…
The hard part is that these things are out of our control. Trials will happen and we can’t do anything about that.
Well that’s the end of post! Have fun with life!!! 😀
For those who believe there is no God, there is no hope. There is nothing out there so we just have to take what life gives us.
But as Christians we know there is a God. We know that there is someone who cares for us.
The God we believe in is Jesus Christ. The creator of heaven and earth and the one who died for our sins so we could spend eternity with him.
But he isn’t a God that doesn’t care about what happens in our lives. Despite the fact that we are no bigger than ants compared to God, he still dearly loves and cares about every single person.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121: 1 -2
God promises he will be our help in times of need. He is our anchor, the one we can hold onto. He wants to help us get through the hard times in life.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
It may not make sense why bad things are happening. But God will work it all out. We can’t forget that there is a spiritual battle going on as well. We just don’t see everything.
But we can trust that God will win in the end and he will get us through life.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation.
He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—
from violent people you save me.
2 Samuel 22: 2-3
God wants to be the one we turn to when it hurts. Jesus is our rock, our cornerstone.
The world may seem like it’s trying to take us down.
But if our God is for us, than who can ever stop us?
How has God carried you through trials? What ways has God shown his faithfulness to you?
