In Christ, I Am Protected (Day 13)

1 John 5:18

Do you know that God guards his children?

He is our protector in more ways than merely the physical. God protects us from sin.

I know that sounds a bit crazy when you consider that being saved does not mean that we will never sin again, but when we are saved by the grace of God, and our lives are transformed, God protects us from continual or habitual sin. God tells us this in 1 John 5:18.

We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him. (ESV)

The reality is that sin, and the Holy Spirit are totally incompatible. They do not co-exist. That is why when we are saved and experience a new birth in Christ, we receive a new beginning. That new beginning grants us a new relationship with our Heavenly Father, and we receive a new nature. Our nature becomes one that desires not to sin and that new nature is guarded by God.

In Christ, you are protected. He desires to love and lead you. Will you let Him?

Some wonderful additional reading relating to God making us new can be found in the following scripture passages?

I encourage you to bask in the beauty of how God cares for you and embrace how He has made you new, guides and protects you!. In Christ, you are – protected!
