You are fearfully and wonderfully made! You are beautiful, perfect in God’s eyes, and loved beyond measure.
This biblical truth is likely the most difficult for women to believe. Why? Let me be perfectly blunt.
Women have been fed a line of garbage by society.
Over and over again women have been told, from the time we were young that we have to work at being beautiful. Lies such as, “you’re pretty in the face if only you’d lose weight.” Or maybe you believe that you cannot leave the house without makeup because people will not see you as beautiful.
Women walk around wearing masks, desperate to be beautiful, loved, and measure up to the world around them.
Here is the absolute truth! You are beautiful just the way God created you! You don’t have to color your hair, paint your face, or wear a particular brand name. Your job title and your bank account do not define you! How do I know? Because God’s word is the truth! So take off your mask!
Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV) says, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.“
There it is, in black and white! The truth of God’s holy word proves what society tells us is a lie. You are beautiful because God created you.
Say it with me! I am fearfully and wonderfully made!
God knew that we would repeatedly need to hear this truth, so he lovingly placed it over and over again in his word.
Genesis 1:27 (ESV) says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female, he created them.”
Job 10:11 (ESV) tells us “You clothed me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews.
Psalm 72:18 (ESV) “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.”
Deuteronomy 32:06 (ESV) “Is not he your father, who created you…”
You are important to God and his crowning creation because you are a reflection of him.
Even greater is the reality that God spoke the light, dark, oceans, stars and more into creation, but he formed you with his hands, lovingly knitting you together in your mother’s womb with great intentionality.
Never for a moment doubt how beautiful and wonderful you are, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made by Almighty God.
Today, I urge to to write down the truths you have learned thus far. You are redeemed, justified, hidden in Christ, fearfully and wonderfully made. Place those words where you can see them, and say them repeatedly throughout the day reminding yourself who you are!
Take time to pray and thank God for who He made you to be. If you have time, enjoy a worship song celebrating how you are loved by the King!
