I Am, In Christ, Chosen and Called – Day 9

1 Peter 2:9Sometimes I lose my faith in the human race. Anyone else?

People are so wrapped up in their own wants and needs that they fail to look at those around them. There are people hurting, lost, broken, and in need. Do you feel that way sometimes?

Some days I’m all about being the light in this dark world. Other days I’d like to hide in my blanket fort with my puppy. It is on those days want to hide, that I must remind myself that I am chosen and called by God. So are you!

Our Savior calls us to Himself.

Because we are adopted into His family, we are holy royalty! You are the daughter of the Most High King! So straighten that tiara and remember that God chose you! He called you out of the darkness and into His marvelous light – the light of His glory.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of the darkness into His marvelous light. – 1 Peter 2:9

God’s word tells us that because we belong to Him, we are to proclaim the excellencies of Him. It’s all about singing praises to Him!

Seriously take a moment if you haven’t recently and make a list of all of the ways God has blessed you and answered your prayers.

Answered prayers may be mighty miracles, other times they are just small and simple. God reveals Himself in the big and the little. As His chosen daughters, we must keep our eyes open, waiting with expectancy to see Him move.

Momma has a sweet answered prayer today. It’s one of those wonderful ways God works, but if you close your eyes, you will miss it. She had a sweet momma robin build a nest in a tiny tree outside Mom’s bedroom window. Mother robin was working through some serious storms to keep that nest safe and secure.

Now, Mom is having her house painted in just a few days, and soon as momma robin began sitting on her nest to care for her eggs, Mom began praying that God would allow those babies to hatch and fly away before the painting was going to start.

Today Mom saw the last baby robin leave the nest.

The painting begins on Friday. God answered that sweet prayer. No request is considered too big or small for our Father.

He calls us as His own and has chosen us to be His and His alone for eternity.

Embrace the reality that you ARE a daughter of the Most High King. By God and His mighty glory, you are chosen with a great plan and purpose; chosen to be light in the darkness, to reflect Jesus in every way, and to give God all of the glory in the big things and the small.

Our Savior never fails. His glory leads us from the darkness and into the marvelous light – the Light of the World, Jesus.

As I reflect on today’s passage I find myself over and over again singing, “and through it all, it is well with me.” Thank you, my Lord, for choosing me and for calling me out of the darkness. I long to bask in your marvelous light – even on the days when I want to hide in my blanket fort.
