How Do I Find My Worth?

Woman thinkingHow Do I find my worth? It’s a question I’m sure that most of us women have asked ourselves over our lifetime.

For much of my life, I struggled horribly with feeling like I just didn’t measure up. I felt unworthy. You know the feeling, don’t you?

I think if we are honest, we have all struggled one time or another with feelings of inadequacy. Some of us have even suffered deep depression and loneliness as we wonder why we are here, what purpose can we serve?

I’ve been there myself, and I have learned something so simple, yet incredibly valuable. I must share it with you!

Your worth is not found in the world. It is found in Christ.

It’s a reality that is easy to say, yet often incredibly difficult to believe, but it’s true! Your worth is found in Christ.

The world sees children of God as prudes, uptight people who don’t know how to have fun. We are viewed as the wet blankets on their parades.

The world judges us based upon our job title, the cars we drive, the homes in which we live, and the tags in our clothes.

God judges us on our heart.

Recently I found myself surrounded by wonderful, godly women with whom I serve in ministry. These women are beautiful, smart, successful, and grounded in God. They have it all together in my eyes, but they were battling the same emotional attacks as me.

The fiery darts of self-doubt and feelings of worthlessness that come directly from the enemy.

Their response to these attacks was different than any I had previously encountered. These women told the enemy to go skip rocks, to sit on a cactus, to be GONE! Then we gathered together in prayer and embraced the truth of God!

Y’all it seems so simple, and yet we miss it! God’s word is truth. It is the only word we need to believe. Over and over again, He tells us who we are, and who He created us to be.

He uses words to describe us in scripture such as: chosen, called, loved, forgiven, beautiful, worthy, and the list goes on and on.

As I began to pray for God to guide me on the subject of the next online Bible study I would lead with our Encourage Her Community; God put it on my heart that it was time to share who I am – who we are, in Christ.

Coming in June, I look forward to walking through a 31-day reading plan and online discussion with you as we dive into God’s word and learn the beauty of who we are in Christ Jesus. I hope you will join me!

You can participate in our Facebook and Instagram LIVE discussions, or if you prefer, watch the recordings at your convenience. I hope you stay tuned for more information about our start date, and to get the resources I have created for you.

In the meantime, I want to remind you that you ARE Worthy! God loves you!

1 Thessalonians 1:4 says, “For we know, brothers (and sisters) loved by God, that He has chosen you.”

I hope that you will agree with me when I say before we can even begin to consider all that we are in Christ, it is important to realize that we are first chosen by Him.

He chose us to be His before the beginning of time.

We are created with intentionality and purpose; called by God to be His. When we choose to accept Him as our Lord, we can then revel in the beauty of who we are in Him.

You are CHOSEN by God!

I can’t wait to learn even more about who God tells us we are, and the beauty of who He is as we walk through this study together. So get ready! The dates and times will be coming soon for our June study –  I Am in Christ.

In the meantime, I hope you will visit one of my previous blog posts called “12 Verses Reminding You, You Are Worthy!”
