Being Still and A New Season in Life

During the summer, and in the midst of our “I am, In Christ” Bible study series, God spoke to my heart. I was running 100 miles per hour in several different directions. I started back to work outside of our home part-time, working on the annual gatHER Women’s Conference, serving on the Board of Directions for a newly forming Christian school, trying to get a Bible study written, and trying to lead a Bible study, all while being a wife, mother, and daughter.

The truth is, I wasn’t doing any of it effectively, and I felt God tell me to “be still!”

It was against everything within me to have to back away from some of my commitments, but I knew the truth of the matter was I needed some time alone with God and some significant time in prayer to seek God’s will and direction for my life. So, I stopped our online Bible study, ended leading and writing, and started spending that time doing my best to grow closer to God and to seek His direction.

He is such a Good Father! The Perfect Shepherd!

We spent some beautiful evenings together as I gazed at the moon and stars and took time to marvel at the breathtaking work of our Creator’s breath. During those summer nights, I grew closer to our Lord and gained perspective. I believe I know where he wants me to go next.

God has revealed a new season in my life; a season of discipleship, speaking to young and adult women’s groups, working outside of the home, and now becoming a more effective Bible teacher as a result of my greater focus on hearing from God.

Recently I began leading a new coffee shop Bible study group. We are walking through Psalm 119 in depth, learning note-taking skills, and adding in some Bible journaling techniques along the way.

I began hearing from you, the online community!

You wished you were local and could participate in this study. After prayer and contemplation, I’ve decided to walk through this study with the online community as well!

My videos are recorded from Live feeds on Instagram, and I am posting them on the Encourage Her Ministry Youtube channel and sending them directly to you in your email box if you are signed up to receive our newsletter! Of course, you can watch them here on the website as well!

In addition to the free videos, you will also receive photos of my notes.

I hope you enjoy this time together in God’s Word as much as I am enjoying preparing and teaching!

If you have questions, observations, or even new revelations, I’d love to hear from you! So feel free to send emails to encouragehertoday@gmail.com. Enjoy this new study!
